Have you read any good books lately?
I absolutely enjoyed reading the last book in The Medlov Crime Family Series. In a way I am sad, because this is the final installment, but there is definitely more to look forward to from one of my favorite authors - Latrivia S. Nelson.
There's drama, suspense, romance - it reads like a regular soap opera. I eagerly awaited the release of Saving Anya to discover what would happen next. All that I can say is that I was not disappointed. While being more lengthy in pages than its predecessors, it was fast paced, and provided a candid look into the lives of each character as the story unfolded. I'll try to give a few details, without spoiling too much.
The Medlov Crime Family Series consists of:
1.) Dmitry's Closet
4.) Saving Anya
After reading Dmitry's Closet, I was hooked.
**SPOILER - Dmitry's Closet**
The main characters include a Russian crime boss, Dmitry Medlov, and a young African American woman, Royal Stone. These aren't your typical characters. Royal grew up as an orphan, never knowing her real mother and losing her sister at a young age. Dmitry never knew his father and has always known a life of crime. Both live in two separate worlds. The two meet when Royal happens to walk into Dmitry's restaurant from job hunting. He hires her to run his new boutique, but she has no idea what she is stepping into or who he is. After acknowledging their attraction towards one another, they start a relationship, but the other side to Dmitry's extravagant, yet dangerous life is gradually revealed to Royal. Dmitry's life is bound by his organization's code- a code that he questions when their love for each other grows. He desires to start a new life with Royal, but everything is threatened when someone from his past emerges. The dangers of his life are made known in more ways than one, and Royal must decide if loving Dmitry is worth the risks.
In Saving Anya, the Medlov family comes together when Royal and Dmitry's daughter is kidnapped and taken hostage. You get to see how each member of the Medlov family copes. I was excited to see how Anatoly and Renee's relationship evolved from Anatoly Medlov: Complete Reign, along with Gabriel and Bridget.
If you haven't read this series, then I suggest you start from the beginning. You can also read the authors mini series about Dmitry's early life in The Chronicles of Young Dmitry Medlov.
As always Latrivia Nelson did an outstanding job. The plot was well developed, leaving me guessing what would happen next whenever I would stop reading to either sleep, go to work, or run an errand. If this were a movie, I'd gladly pay to see it in a theater or on television. I can't wait to read what happens next with Nicola Agosto in The World In Reverse!
